It's October (Yes, I know, it's the SECOND week of october, but I was super busy last week . . . ).
What do I always do in October? I look for scary stuff. I love Halloween. Love it. Love the chills, love the thrills, love the cheesy scary movies. Ok, some of them, at any rate. I've yet to find any real good scary movies out there.
When I was little, I would watch "Chiller Theater" with my grandfather -- those were pretty bad "B" movies, but they usually scared the bejeebers out of little me. I remember being so scared, but I loved watching them at the same time. I grew up watching the scary stuff -- but then came a point where what was "scary" changed to blood, guts and gore. Didn't do anything for me. I know slasher flicks are a huge money maker for hollywood, but there has to be more to a story than "people get dead" for me. Now I don't get much time to watch scary movies as nobody else in my family likes them -- oh well . . . I'll live. :P
I've always been fascinated with the supernatural too -- paranormal as well. I guess I've always wanted to know what I didn't know -- and I have an active imagination. I will tell you that I've yet to have any experiences myself, although I know people that have. Don't know if I'm just not open to it, or what, but in my life, I can't say I've ever seen a ghost, had a paranormal experience or anything of the sort. Boring, I know, but I think that's what fuels my love of these sorts of movies -- not the Hollywood version of ghost stories (which usually end up with blood, guts and gore), but the real, spooky kind of ghost stories -- that don't necessarily have an ending . . . THOSE keep me up at night . . . thinking.
So, anyway, while I sit here and comb through youtube and pinterest, trying to feed my need, I would love to hear from you -- what gives you the chills? What scary movies would you recommend? I wanna know!!
Until later -
Terry
